This class is a developmentally appropriate program for our little learners. Its perfect for children that have had limited time away from their parents. Great for socialization, and learning how to acclimate in a classroom setting.
This program uses Jumping Kangaroo as the curriculum; which incorporates all academics aspects along with movement, art, dance, and science.
The children spend their year learning classroom routines, the academic ropes and are encouraged/taught to use their independence in areas applicable for their self growth.
This class is designed for children who are 4 years old by September 1st. It is perfect for 4 year olds or children that miss the cut off for kindergarten registration.
This program uses - Tara West literacy and math; and incorporates art, dance, movement, and science. Handwriting is a big part of preK and we use Handwriting Without Tears to help the children learn proper letter formation.
The children spend their year learning classroom routines, practicing early literacy and math skills, writing, exploring science, and developing social skills.

Free play - the children can play until all of the children arrive at school
Morning meeting - the children hear a daily message from the teacher as well as Gingerbread Boy (who helps facilitate questions and what we are learning). We also talk about the letter of the week, including what it looks like and what sound it makes. We talk about the calendar and what day it is, there is always a pattern and number associated with the calendar each month so we go over that. We sing the "days of the week" song and the "months of the year." We end each morning meeting with our "good morning song."

Small group instruction - the children are placed in groups of 4 and rotate between the two teachers as well as iPads (educational APPS).

Choice Time - children use this time to play in an area of their choosing. They can play in the kitchen area, art, puzzles, play dough, sand table, train table, blocks, ect...
Small Groups #2 - typically this time is Math activities and the morning is reading activities.
